About Us

We are a non-profit organization that serves over 25,000 youth in north coastal San Diego County, an area known as San Dieguito. Our six branches and special programs offer exceptional programs for youth including after school activities, summer activities, music, theater, aquatics, athletics and educational enhancement. Our affiliation with Boys & Girls Clubs of America gives us access to many proven programs. Our qualified staff is adept at developing programs that appeal to youth in each unique Club. Membership dues are intentionally kept low so that no child is excluded and financial assistance is available. From athletics to education and arts, the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito offer a wide variety of programs to meet the needs of the community and instill a sense of belonging, usefulness, influence and competence in our youth.

Our Impact

We are preparing our youth for tomorrow by making a difference today. We provide diverse activities in our programs that meet the interests of all young people. Core programs encourage activities with adults, peers, and family members that enable kids to enhance self-esteem and fulfill their potential. We offer diversified program activities in five core areas:
  • Character & Leadership Development
  • Education & Career Development
  • Health & Life Skills
  • Sports, Fitness & Recreation
  • The Performing Arts

Research shows that the biggest single predictor of a child's future success is the presence in their life of at least one non-parent adult.Youth who have positive adult relationships are:

  • More motivated to learn and do better in school.
  • Have a better sense of themselves and their future.
  • Accept and take responsibility for themselves and others.
  • More resilient and less likely to engage in risky behavior.

Whom We Serve

In 2007, we served over 21,000 youth, ages 6 to 18. More than 5,000 are Club members; more than 16,000 others are engaged through our programs, partnerships and events. Males comprise 51% of youth served, with females at 49%. We serve a diverse youth population that is 60% Caucasian, 14% Latino/Hispanic, 12% Asian, 10% Multi-racial, and 5% African-American.
