ALL LOCAL 6TH GRADE STUDENTS ARE ABLE TO PATICIPATE IN THE BIG 8 “NO-CUT” SPORT OFFERED IN THAT SEASON.  YOU ARE REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE AT THE MIDDLE SCHOOL IN CLOSEST PROXIMITY TO YOUR PHYSICAL RESIDENCE.  6TH GRADE PARTICIPANTS WILL COMPETE AGAINST ALL 6TH & 7TH GRADE ATHLETES IN OUR JV DIVISION, WHILE ALL 8TH GRADERS PARTICIPATE IN THE VARSITY PROGRAM.  ATHLETES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PLAY “UP” OR “DOWN” IN TERMS OF THE DIVISIONS.

 

 

ON SATURDAY MAY 8TH, 2010 AT THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF SAN DIEGUITO’S POLSTER BRANCH IN CARMEL VALLEY, NEARLY ONE HUNDRED WRESTLERS CAME FROM ALL OVER SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TO ATTEND THE KENDALL CROSS WRESTLING CLINIC HOSTED BY THE PANTHERS WRESTLING CLUB.  THE 1996 OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST, 3-TIME U.S. FREESTYLE NATIONAL CHAMPION, AND 1989 NCAA CHAMPION TOOK THE TIME TO WORK AND SPEAK WITH EVERY YOUNG WRESTLER IN ATTENDENCE.  IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING THAT THE EXPERIENCE WAS UNLIKE ANY OTHER OFFERED IN OUR LOCAL WRESTLING COMMUNITY.  THIS AMAZING EXPERIENCE COULD HAVE NEVER TAKEN PLACE WITHOUT THE FINE PEOPLE INVOLVED AT THE SAN DIEGO WRESTLING ASSOCIATION, THE CURRENT AND FORMER BIG 8 WRESTLING COACHES WHO HELPED TO TEACH THE TECHNIQUES ALL DAY WITH A SMILE, AND OF COURSE THE GREAT CHAMPION KENDALL CROSS.  THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH FROM BOTH THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF SAN DIEGUITO, AND ALL THE OUTSTANDING YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN WHO PARTICIPATED.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito BIG EI8HT Sports Conference sponsors 10 sports: Girls volleyball, cross country, flag football, boys basketball, girls field hockey, wrestling, track & field, golf, girls basketball and boys volleyball. Teams compete with local middle schools in-and-outside the distric
