Mission Statement

Positive Place Montessori School, Encinitas provides a nurturing, child-centered environment where individual needs are met at each stage of development. The Montessori manipulable materials are specifically designed to enhance the child's natural love of learning along with a program led by well trained, devoted teachers facilitating growth on every level. A balanced curriculum of academics as well as music, art, gymnastics, cultural studies and character development help promote a well-rounded individual who has the highest potential to excel in every area of life.

Summer Child Care & Cultural Camp

PPMS-E Director Maryam Rad will oversee the Montessori-based child care program, which is one of the few schools to offer summer child care in Encinitas.  Summer child care is available from 9:00am - 2:30pm, five days a week at a cost of $175 per week.   In addition to the child care, Rad will be conducting a unique cultural camps for all  children. The camp, which runs July 6 - August 21, is designed to encourage children's knowledge and appreciation of arts from different regions, the history of other cultures, ideas, voices and lives of people from around the world.  Each week, the camp will feature a different culture.   A special promotion is available for those who are interested in attending the summer child care program or cultural camp.  If you register for either child care or the cultural camp, you will receive ONE FREE week of child care. Positive Place Montessori School, Encinitas is based upon the philosophy of Maria Montessori providing a positive environment for growth and learning; offering experiences that enrich and enhance each child's cognitive, language, social, emotional, physical, creative and moral development. In a spirit of love and respect our teachers are responsive to each child's individual needs. Children have opportunities to create, explore the environment, learn problem solving and personal interaction skills, and learn concepts through hands-on experiences at their own pace and interest level. This fosters independence, positive self-concept and enhances the child's natural love of learning.

Overview:

The Positive Place Montessori School, Encinitas is a community dedicated to the education of children guided by the educational philosophy of Maria Montessori. Our family of Montessori Schools have provided unparalleled educational opportunities for the north coastal San Diego County's youngest citizens since 2005. Positive Place extends its tradition of "learning by doing" to the young children with a model preschool designed in every detail for their needs.

Composition: Day student population, ages 2 1/2-6, from throughout the Encinitas and the coastal area representing the races, cultures, religions, and languages of a multi-national population.

Philosophy: That students are active participants, problem solvers, and learners who learn best "by doing", guided by accomplished teachers who are gifted facilitators.

Curriculum:

A core curriculum of math, language, science, geography, reading, arts and crafts, music, gymnastics, cultural studies, and character development.

Education at Positive Place is based on the principles developed by Maria Montessori and extended and refined by Montessori teachers in America and around the world. At the heart of this approach is the belief that children will best reach their potential by having the freedom to learn in a classroom especially prepared for exploring under the careful guidance of a trained teacher.
