Boys & Girls Clubs More Relevant Than Ever Before By Keith Padgett  BGCSDTO President & CEO Over the last decade, the Boys & Girls Club Movement has risen to great prominence on the American landscape. Today, the Boys & Girls Club Movement comprises 4,300 Clubs, 50,000 full and part-time professionals and 170,000 volunteers serving 4.8 million young people through membership and community outreach. The collective revenues of the Movement are nearly $1.5 billion. As measured by total income and net assets, the Boys & Girls Club Movement is the eighth largest charity and the number one youth-serving organization in America. The Boys & Girls Club brand is one of the most widely recognized and respected non-profit brands in the nation. Now more than ever America needs the Boys & Girls Clubs to provide the “traditional” Boys & Girls Clubs’ programs such as: Power Hour, Smart Moves, Leaders in Training, Keystone, Torch Club, Project Learn, Club Tech and many others. Since 1966 the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito has provided all the traditional programs for which the Boys & Girls Clubs of America is known. We have also been a National leader in innovative programs essential to new generations of American children. The Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito’s facilities are some of the best in the nation. And we provide a variety of innovative programs such as: Youth Arts Academy, a full range of Aquatics, Middle School Sports for boys and girls in 13 sports, Club Volleyball, and a Center for a Healthy Lifestyle to help mitigate childhood obesity. All programs are staffed by dedicated and professional people who instill in our youth the values of learning, leadership, character, and positive life skills. Yes, now more than ever, the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito is a valued member of the communities we serve.
